Talent Show
You're invited to watch our virtual Talent Show on Friday, June 5. The students of 7A, 7B, and 7C will have their logos (from last week's Digital Journal) showcased. Students who submitted their journals on time to Mrs. Spatola, Ms. Lee or Ms. Bacopoulos last Friday will have their work displayed. Our principal will be sending out a link to access the Talent Show later this week. I hope you will all take the time to watch and to support our talented students.
Distance Learning
Here we go...
On Monday, April 6, we'll be embarking on a new learning journey. Students in 7A will be meeting with me virtually on Monday morning at 10:00am. If your child will not be able to access technology at that time because it will be used by another member of your family, have your child email me and I will let them know what they missed. Please know that it is my intention to meet with 7A students every week on Mondays (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday) at 10:00 am. The purpose of our weekly meeting will be to:
This is the format I'd like to follow each week, but understand that it may change as challenges arise; flexibility is key.
I'll be available to help students in 7A, 7B and 7C for math during my drop in office hours, but my Monday Meet will be for 7A students only. As always, students and parents can also reach me by email.

- touch base and check in/find out what challenges my students have had
- tell students about the week's lesson format, where they can pick up the work, and how it can be submitted
- I'll demo how to access the assigned work and share with the assigning teacher
- share my availability for virtual help for the week

School Closure
I hope you are all remaining healthy. I am getting a number of emails from parents wondering what their children should be working on. Before the break, Mrs. S and I send an email to all parents for whom we have an email address for. We gave details regarding what our students have been working on and what they are expected to complete on or before April 6. These deadlines will be maintained. Should the school closure extend beyond the next 2 weeks, we will provide you with further direction.
Please take time to read this (very lengthy) email for a number of resources you can access from home during this time of physical distancing and home isolation.

As a second year Masters of Education student, Ms. Guarrasi is in her final stages of preparation before becoming a certified teacher. She will be teaching math to all 3 of my classes, as well as science to 7A. I hope you will join me in welcoming her to KE!
Here's some information about her in her own words:
Here's some information about her in her own words:
I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Chemistry, and now I am in the MT program at OISE to become a teacher! I love playing and watching hockey, exercising, painting and reading. The environment and being eco-conscious is very important to me as well. I am looking forward to teaching grade 7 and the next 4 weeks!
