Hi 7B! As we continue to embark on Remote Learning, Visual Arts will be taught by Ms. Sgro for all grade 7s and 8s. Homeroom teachers are busy teaching math/science or English/social studies. Homeroom teachers will no longer be teaching Visual Arts, so that means that Ms Sgro will be providing you with work and inspiration.

Week of April 6
As per the direction of the Ministry of Education, Visual Arts learning will not be included in Phase 2 of Distance Learning. Check back weekly in the even that this changes.
Week of March 23
I will not be expecting you to do anything for Visual Arts this week. Check back next Monday.
Woman's Day Multimedia Assignment
We'll be studying the work of artist Alma Woodsey Thomas and using her iconic colourful, patterned style as inspiration to create our own work. We'll review colour theory and learn about brush technique to make a colourful backdrop for a silhouette of a woman we find to be influential. Lastly, we will use an appropriate font to layer a quote made famous by the woman in your art piece.

We'll finally begin our good copy of our art book covers. Be sure to bring your THIN black markers (remember, avoid using permanent markers, like sharpies or markers with thicker, felt tips).

- At least 10 patterns (blending into each other or in isolation)
- Images that show your interests, hobbies, etc...

- Patterns that compliment the quote, not distract from it
