Week of April 6
The nutrition project you've been working on is finally due. Please be ready to share it with me on April 6. Also, you'll be sharing it with one other student - be sure you choose 1 or 2 other students you will share your project with. They should provide you with feedback to improve. It is up to you whether or not you make changes based on their feedback, but I will need you to leave their feedback in place so I can see it. The FINAL, edited version should be shared with me on Thursday, April 9th.
Weeks of March 23 and March 30
In nutrition, you are well on their way to completing your meal planning project. You have already been assigned a dietary restriction or health concern that must be taken into consideration when creating a 3 day food plan. Additionally, you are to come up with a recipe alternative to your favourite meal or snack (which we have already analysed). Students should be ready with their assignment complete for Monday, April 6. Check back here for next steps if we are still learning from home.
Nutrition
We're embarking on a new unit: Healthy Eating. In this unit, we'll look at factors for our food choices, what influences our decisions, how various health conditions affect our diets, as well as come up with a meal plan that includes eating out and alternative food options.
UPDATE:
You should choose a snack or meal or drink you love. Then look up the nutritional information for it. If it’s from a restaurant, you can find this data on their website. If it’s something you make at home, you can try googling the nutritional value of that item. Don’t forget to include the portion size.
